Day 26- Cuzco
Today was a slow-paced day of rest and relaxation. Since I went to sleep so early the night before, I woke up around 8am and ate breakfast with my family. I talked to Kris, who planned to visit Amy in the hospital with a few other girls, then go out to lunch followed by shopping. I'd wanted to return to the Artisanal Mall at some point that day as well and assumed we might see each other there. Since I'm starting to get a cold, I took my time getting ready and procrastinated going out. I read my Lima book for a bit and ended up leaving in time to grab lunch. I found a cheap place by the mall and then did a lot of good shopping and bargaining. I wasn't surprised to see Natalie, Kris and Rachel when I went there. Afterwards, I walked around for a while before stumbling upon a good pastry shop. Once I'd ordered my cake, I realized that there were a handful of others from the group there, too. I sat by them and showed off some of my findings (presents for friends and family, and a chompa for myself), but everyone was busy either reading or working on their laptops. I didn't really mind since I wanted some time to myself anyway, so I left when I was done with my postre and walked around a bit more before deciding to walk back home (which takes about 25 minutes from the plaza). I finished up pretty much the rest of the assigned section in the book and ate dinner with my family. It was a laidback day in the midst of many jam-packed ones.
